My go-to sushi spot in Portland, other wonderful Japaneses dishes grace their menu such as udon, soba, donburi and katsu. Would highly reccomend, also great sake list. 10/10

Some of the best sushi I have had! Pork gyozas were definitely made fresh and so flavorful. We loved all the rolls! The Maine roll with lobster had a mountain of lobster meat well worth it's price. It's more spendy than other sushi places but you definitely get your money's worth! Only down side was that we sat near the door and kept getting a cold breeze (it was a frigid night)

Any place that has Γ£ΖβΓ£ΖΒͺΓ£β«ãΖΕΎΓ₯‘©çβΒΌΓ£ΒΒ gets extra stars...an an extra again for Yosaku cuz they make it soooo darn good! Love their Γ§βΒΌΓ₯£² too. They have a very wide selection of traditional Japanese izakaya fare, something for everyone. And it's reasonably priced, compared to many other Japanese restaurants in the Portland area. It's a pretty busy place, so sometimes there's a wait, but service is fairly good and keeps it moving. Sometimes it's hard to find parking.

We came to travel and want to try some delicious Japanese food last night. Chirashi is really tasty. Fish are all fresh and delicious. The staff are all friendly and passion. The price is affordable. The environment is really fantastic. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and fantastic staff. The sushi bar was very fast and well done. The prices for some stuff seemed to be a little high but when I saw the bento on another customers table it looked well worth it. Sushi was very good and the sushi chefs all had lovely smiles.

Great Sushi, menu will suit all tastes. Eastern and Western dining tables. Friendly and experience staff. Two rolls and soup is more than enough for one person.

This Japanese restaurant is astounding, in other word food and service are special. Every sea foods are very fresh. Many kind of Sushi in the menu, it let you excited. The Soba noodle is made by professional after the order. In addition their Soba noodle is used local Soba powder. It is great work. If I have a chance to come to portland again, I'll visit this restaurant.

Really good Japanese cuisine. The sushi is great, fresh and flavorful, and the entrΓΒ©es are delicious. Check out the mixed drinks, some come in a fun fishbowl style glass.

This was the best, most authentic Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The prices were very affordable, and everything was delicious! The lunch bento box was amazing, had so much variety!

Huge portions and some of the cheapest prices of any sushi restaurant in Portland. Service here is fast and friendly. The restaurant can reach full capacity easily during the summer season. Very fresh seafood and great quality sushi every time. Drinks menu is well stocked and a Kids Menu is provided for family dinner outings.

The decor is beautiful, very traditional. You feel welcomed as you walk in. The outside seating area is so beautiful as well, with the pond in the background. That alone makes you feel relaxed. The cool duck in the pond was a definite plus. The food was delicious too, the Pork Gyoza was spot on, the sweet potato rolls and tamago rolls were to die for. Defintely will visit again to experience more of the menu.

Really good sushi and nice ambiance, served was friendly and efficient. Can't beat the lunch special 11:30 to 2:00 with 3 rolls and miso soup for $11 or 2 rolls for $8.75. The rolls do have quite a bit of rice but other than that no complaints.

I've been coming to Yosaku for the better part of a decade and have always loved it. Really delicious sushi/sashimi and an incredible variety to suit all palettes. The youth bento box is a massive hit with our kids and about the same cost you'd pay for a kid's mac and cheese at your average restaurant. Best sushi in Portland, no question. Come here in summer and eat in their fanatastic Japanese garden.

Definitely my favorite go to for sushi in Portland. Don't skip the avocado salad!! Well done rolls and Charming bento boxes for the kids.

This is the best Japanese restaurant for springtime! The deck is the perfect spot for lunch. The garden is beautiful with the pink and white flowering trees, and the waterfall. I love to watch the fish flags flow against the blue of the sky. Oh and the food is great too.

Yosaku brings authentic, traditional japenese cuisine to the heart of Portland's own Old Port. Yosaku stands out from the plentiful Japanese options in the area predominantly for their pride, heritage and rich quality of the dishes they serve which range from traditional Western makimono to traditional narezushi. To accompany the broad array of delectable fish and assorted rolls, Yosaku also offers an unequivocal Soba noodle option. Unique to Yosaku is their exclusive 100% inclusion of Maine grown buckwheat from Auroba Mills & Farm in Linneus, ME. In short, if you're looking for a wide array of authentic, high quality, for a reasonable place Japanese meal, Yosaku is your place.

Respect for the lobster JP style.

Amazing and tasty sushi, very friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out

This was one of our favorite sushi restaurants. Tonight however, there was poor communication about an overdue takeout order (one of the hamachi was burned and had to be redone), leading to rather a long wait, and no manager appeared to be available to manage the situation. Sit down dinners have been good, but I think this is the last time I will be using Yosaku for takeout.

I am luckily spoiled with good sushi, so my standards are rather high. This place has a large variety of different food and each one is better than the next. The staff is very polite and attentive and they worked with my friends diet by making him handrolls without rice. This is something other places were not willing to do.

Awesome service -came in right before they closed & they were wonderful

Really enjoyed our beautiful spring lunch in Portland at Yosaku. The kids meal was greatly helpful in letting the grownups enjoy our sushi properly! My daughter also loved the fish flags flying overhead. Sitting out in the lovely garden with the blossoming trees and the waterfall made it a very special and enjoyable occasion. Service was a little slow but most likely because of my food allergies (I'm allergic to sesame). Would definitely come again.

Toc, Ram and crew always make our visit to YOSAKU extra special. This is by far my husband's and my favorite restaurant, let alone sushi anywhere! Thank you once again for an amazing meal. And of course the spicy scallop is seriously one of the best bites in Portland.

Amazing food! More than just sushi!! Love the brunch Γ’ΒΒ€ Great service. The outside seating, traditional and modern indoor seating each provide wonderful experiences. Gets very busy on weekends and parking is limited.
Sarah Mulcahy
Best sushi in Portland! Great place for a date night or when you're craving really good sushi.

I've always loved Yosaku! The food is very good for the price, and the tatami seats are a unique way to eat! Expect to be here 1+ hours, but highly recommended for gatherings and families (very family friendly)!

Fantastic. Prompt and friendly service, flavorful food made with high quality ingredients. It was also great to experience the chef making soba noodles by hand out front. Outstanding, and I'll be back many more times, I'm sure.

Awesome food! Love how much of it is homemade!

Met friends there and had a wonder meal and time together. They have a very diverse menu and everything is fresh and prepared perfectly.

Absolutely delicious! Nice people and great prices. We had a 15 minute wait, for lunch. Totally worth it. I will go again!

Really good food, we were in Portland for 6 days and ate 3 times here. The main chef is traditional style Japanese however has a good blend of locals around him. The service is ok, without being awesome. It is really about the food!Just awesome!
Joe Earley
Amazing staff. Even more amazing food

Good sushi at a good place. A little bit cramped inside but not overly so. Oddly enough it was one of the few places done up for Christmas which was much appreciated as it.seems.most of Portland businesses seem afraid to show Christmas spirit. Service was fast and attentive.
Abbie Smith
Very prompt and nice staff, comfortable atmosphere, and great sushi! Seemed like many patrons were local regulars to this great little restaurant although my husband and I were only in Portland for the day. I would definitely eat here again.
Matthew Klein
Amazing food and even better service! We travelled from Windsor Ontario and were very impressed. Great location as well to sit on the outside patio!

Great food, good price. But don't go with kids. Not a kids friendly place and people.

Everything was excellent! It was extremely fresh and delicious! I want to point out that they had excellent sashimi options for us non grain keto people. They even have a sashimi platter which isn't something available at all sushi place (usually only available in small servings). Their plum wine was especially delicious. We also appreciated them giving us a heads up on the long wait for sushi to be done (they were very busy). We completely understood, especially when they gave us a heads up! We would definitely return!
